Today it’s my 5th day in Shetlands, I didn’t want to write before, because I started to think that writing in first impressions can be bad, can make do bad judge, and I really don’t want this to happen. So here you have a text write in 2sc impressions, where I’ll describe briefly my very short time in Shetland .
So after my travel of 14:30 hours by ferry, from Alberdeen with one stop in Orknay, I arrived at 7:30 a.m in Lerwick, the main village of Shetlands. The city it’s quite a big, I almost got lost one day, in the way to work. This island makes me remember my hometown, because of the fog, it’s a bit more could that my previous location, but not so much more cold, I think I had a lucky week, with good weather, but I believe that in this precisely moment it’s changing , because of the sound of the wind that I am listening , looks that it is increasing. The city looks that have a sort of mountain, and luck me, my workplace it’s one part of this sort of mountain and my house in the other part, so quite big walks every day, and to help all of enter in the afternoon shift I need to leave a bit earlier than the other shifts, because of the transit, around 5:30 p.m looks bad, and none of the cars bothers to stop to let me pass, so it’s quite a challenge sometimes.
Lerwick looks very nice they have a big road that it’s just for people where you can find all the place of trading, you can find all kinds of thing in this street. You can find a lot of industrial of construction that probably are related with port because of they are very close to each other’s. And then when you look around, you can see a lot of beautiful landscape, there is no signs of trees, I believe that it’s related with weather conditions up here, but everything it’s green with small mountain, and beautiful seals, they look darker than the ones in Kildonan.
One of the things that Shetlands if fames, it’s about the oil and gas that they have, so I work serving a lot of workers of this industries, that stay in the hotel here I work. Because of these workers 2 day of week I need to be in the hotel at 5:30 a.m to serve them breakfast, this it’s not so nice!!! But I’ll survive.
