Saltedfox

Crazy idea this one, “Peter Cvakari”, about putting myself writing, but I going to give shot, why not?!

So this began a few days ago, when I invite myself to write something to Salfox , for what Peter answer,  that it could be a good idea!!

Before start I should do a brief presentation of myself, I will be honest with all of you, I believe that writing doesn’t suit me very much, but I will give a try.

My name doesn’t matter, I am Portuguese in my earliest 20s, that have this dream of begging 100% independent from everyone, no attachments at all. And honestly, I don’t really know what I want for my future, and if I interrogate myself “are the present choices right to your future?” I will answer “Who the fuck knows!!!” but I can definitely say “What I am living in this moment was not well planned in my thoughts, and does not go according to what I planned to my life, but somehow it’s what I have in this moment, so I will grab with all my strength, and I should believe in the end I will have a reward”.

All this adventure start almost 7 months ago, when I apply myself to come to work and live in UK, by twist of fate I end up in Scotland, I was really thinking when I first apply that I would go to a city, I hoped for a big one, since I normal prefer cities than small places, the trued it’s that I end up in the place 3 times smaller than the one I came from, and believe my friends I came from a very small place. But my first impression of Kildonan couldn’t be more in, of what I already knew from internet research. A small place with a lot of nature, a small amount of houses and a Hotel, I first thought I would not probably live inside of the hotel, but in the end the accommodation was inside of Hotel. The first couple months were quite difficult for me, because I did not enjoyed the work that I was doing, but when I changed the position for a front house one, the things got better. I would take a lot of good things with me, about this experience, good people, which we might never cross the same path again, but I would probably never forget, beautiful landscapes and a lot more. Yes because this experience it’s almost ending for me, this happened like this, I could not be more sick of a small place, because I believe that when we live in a small environment we start to give too much importance to small things, and I do not like, but I accept a job in Shetland that it’s one of the furthers north island of Scotland, will take me about 14h and 30 min by ferry, from Aberdeen to Lerwick, And this is the part that I enter in SaltFox, somehow Peter ask me to write about the Shetland adventure, and I will try to not disappoint him.

I would like to use this opportunity to say goodbye to Kildonan Hotel, owners, managers, and all the rest of the staff, it’s was a pleasure to work with all of you, and I wish all the best luck in the world for all of you.
